Just thought this might be of interest. Whilst surveying ponds in Redditch recently I came across this bizarre looking female Crested, which really surprised me. She had the most wonderful pigmentation on her belly and flanks. I donĘt know if you people have seen many like it but she also had nice spots on her belly like leopards with a circular outer and a coloured middleą

Quite nice really but never seen another like herą

Strange one, I guess if the grey were replaced with the yellow she would look normal, so for some reason a lack of yellow pigment in some areas, I assume she is in a population of normally marked specimens?

Yes that's right, all the others were 'normally' marked. Just this one and only caught her the once.
